Distribution Quality Assureance Coordinator - This work will take place around the Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, TN area.  

Job Requirements:
Four-year degree in a technical field from an accredited college plus a minimum of three (3) years of experience designing or constructing electric distribution lines.
or
Ten (10) years of experience designing or constructing electric distribution lines.

• This position requires extensive knowledge of line design, construction and NESC codes.
• Must be proficient in computer systems, including GPS equipment and procedures or proficiency in power line design and construction standards.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to coordinate, communicate and interact effectively with employees across multiple departments.
• Willingness to participate in on-the-job training.

JOB SUMMARY:
• To support the Engineering and Operations Teams by inspecting system improvement and construction jobs for compliance with engineering and construction standards and/or specifications.
• To generate reports of non-compliance with standards and/or specifications.
• To work with Engineering and Operations Teams to revise and develop specifications.
• To collect pole, equipment and land data for updating of GIS and work order data.
• Training and mentoring of engineering and operations team members to maximize quality and ensure adherence to codes and specifications.
• To promote a smooth and coordinated flow of department engineering material within the department and with other departments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the GIS Quality Assurance Supervisor and within the limits of established policies, assumes responsibility for the performance of the following activities:
1. Plans for the smooth flow of work in the engineering and GIS functions for the Engineering Department.
2. Inspects all system improvement jobs after completion to determine compliance with engineering and construction standards and/or specifications.
3. Inspects a specified percentage of all jobs that are engineered and constructed by district personnel to determine compliance with engineering and construction standards and/or specifications.
4. Populates inspection report with issues of non-compliance with standards and/or specifications for use by engineering & operations to view trends
5. Updates inspection report as issues are addressed to close the loop on issues and to ensure dashboards indicate a current number of open issues.
6. Reviews recurring inspection issues with Engineering and Operations team members.
7. Assists local office personnel with complex projects using GPS equipment.
8. Collects pole, equipment and land data locations using GPS equipment.
9. Updates work order paperwork and GIS work order data to ensure that once the work order posts, GIS is correct, the work order data that is passed to Accounting is accurate and the scanned job paperwork accurately reflects what occurred on the work order.
10. Recommends improvements and/or modifications in GPS equipment & Procedures.
11. Reviews engineering and construction specifications with the Engineering Support Supervisor and Engineering Standards Manager and makes recommendations for spec additions/updates.
12. Acts as a liaison between corporate engineering and engineering and operations at their assigned area.
13. Trains and mentors Engineering and Operations team members to ensure quality GIS data, construction & Specification/code compliance.
14. Trains and mentors construction contractors on client specifications, construction units, paperwork, etc. to ensure quality construction and data.
15. Stays up to date and proficient on NESC Codes, Electrical Service Guidelines, Underground Installation Guide, clients Staking Tables & client specifications.
16. Answers specification, code & construction questions from team members of all departments.
17. Coordinates with fellow E&O Quality Assurance Coordinators to ensure inspections are consistent across all areas.
18. Assists with outage restoration as needed.
19. Reports maintenance issues and coordinates with the local office for generation of service orders or work orders for repair and/or replacement.
20. Maintains assigned vehicle, equipment, and supplies.
21. Keeps current on Board policies and operational bulletins.
22. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
